North Carolina native Nelson Haynes loves to write! When he learned that Creative Writing was an elective choice for completing his Masters in Christian Education at Dallas Theological Seminary his eyes got big as quarters as he felt more alive. He has journaled for over 30 years and he currently writes monthly articles for a magazine called Good News, besides submitting fresh weekly meditations for this writer’s blog.
God did not give us just one eye of-course, but two. However, some people only look at the world and their surroundings through one lens. Like a pair of glasses with two lenses, Nelson is thankful for a balanced perspective of the world he gained after rubbing shoulders with both the sacred and the secular worlds.
After graduating from Columbia International University he spent 15 years in full-time Youth Ministry, followed by an additional 19 years currently in the Disability Insurance industry.
He loves spending time with his wife and two grown daughters and one son-in-law. He also loves to go on adventures with the family’s Labrador Retrievers, Bentley & Sadie. Besides writing, Nelson’s secondary hobbies include movies, music, traveling, reading, photography, gardening, riding his mountain bike and painting watercolors.
