North Carolina native, Nelson Haynes, loves to write! When he learned Creative Writing was an elective choice for completing his Masters in Christian Education at Dallas Theological Seminary, his eyes widened with excitement.
He has journaled for over 30 years and currently submits creative meditations for this writer’s blog and has written articles for Good News magazine. He’s in the process of writing his memoir.
God did not give us just one eye of-course, but two. However, some people look at the world and their surroundings through one lens.
Like a pair of glasses with two lenses, Nelson is thankful for a balanced perspective of the world he gained after rubbing shoulders with both the sacred and secular worlds.
After graduating from Columbia International University he spent 15 years in full-time Youth Ministry at two churches and one Christian boarding school and those ministries were located in Gadsden, Alabama; Asheville, North Carolina; Columbia, South Carolina; and Hixson, Tennessee–followed by over 20 years in the Disability insurance industry.
He loves spending time with his wife and two grown daughters and son-in-law. He also loves to go on adventures with the family’s Labrador Retrievers, Bentley & Sadie. Besides writing, Nelson’s secondary hobbies include movies, music, traveling, reading, photography, gardening, riding his mountain bike and painting watercolors.
